A fine wine that takes the name of the vine that already existed at the time when Niccolò Machiavelli was the proprietor of the Estate. Today as in the past the Fontalle vine is located close to a spring ("fontana") of the purest water which contributes to the growth of the finest Sangiovese grapes used for this Riserva.
TASTE
Vivid purple color and a rich and intense bouquet with definite fruity (raspberries, blackberries) and floral (irises) hint backed by notes of vanilla and resin. The flavor is full, concentrated, very elegant and balanced with a very agreeable, lingering aftertaste of licorice and conserve.
